Day 1: ARRIVAL ALMERIA – LANJARON (140 Km – 1.5 hrs)
Arrive at Almeria airport. Pick up your car. A representative of the car rental company will deliver you your hired car and inform you about how to proceed on your departure day. From the airport, drive to the seaside town of Almeria, located in the province of the same name, before going to Lanjaron This Mediterranean city boasts a history of Hollywood films and its Moorish past makes for a vibrant, eclectic setting.

Day 2: LANJARON
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Lanjaron is known simply as the ‘spa town’ and it’s the most popular of its type in the whole of Andalusia. It is said that its waters can help alleviate ailments such as rheumatism and arthritis, as well as liver and kidney problems.

Day 3: LANJARON – BAEZA (180 Km – 2 hrs)
After breakfast at the hotel, walk out to the streets of Lanjaron to explore this wonderful town. It has enough to see and do to make a visit worthwhile at any time of the year. Savour the town’s tasty cuisine, admire the different neighbourhoods featuring traditional architecture of the hillside area of La Alpujarra, and stroll through beautiful gardens or venture out on a forest hike. The town’s main street has small shops where you can purchase traditional pieces of handmade pottery and wicker products.

Day 4: BAEZA
Recharge your energy with a morning breakfast at the hotel, bid farewell to the tranquillity and healing waters of Lanjaron and continue north, passing through the beautiful city of Granada, all the way to Baeza. This city, together with its nearby neighbour, Ubeda, are two of the most beautiful towns in the Jaen province and both have been listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Each has magnificent monumental old towns consisting of Renaissance palaces and churches that date from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Day 5: BAEZA – GRANADA (130 Km – 1.5 hrs)
After breakfast at the hotel, you can make a short trip to Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park, the biggest protected area in Spain and the second biggest in Europe, for a chance to see a wide array of wildlife and plant life. Another possibility is visiting the well-known city of Jaen, capital of the province, a city full of interesting history and architecture known as the ‘World Capital of Olive Oil’.

Day 6: GRANADA – DEPARTURE ALMERÍA (156 Km – 1.5 hrs)
Hop into your car and drive back to Almeria after breakfast, back to where you began your journey. Perhaps take advantage of this last full day in the beautiful coastal location and spend some relaxing hours basking in the sun on one of the many fantastic beaches in the area. Don’t forget to take a dip in the warm Mediterranean Sea. Drop off the car and catch your departure flight back home.
Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for travelling in Spain. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. Sun protection, sunglasses, a hat and mosquito repellent in summer can be very useful during your stay.
